Des Golden Specialist Cars has been in operation in Cork for over 20 years, we provide the highest quality servicing, repairs and tuning options to German performance and luxury vehicles, and supercars. We are specialists in Porsche, Mercedes, BMW, Ferrari, Maserati, VW/Audi and Abarth vehicles

Established in March 2000 as a one-man specialist workshop, we have grown through the years and become one of Irelands leading independent performance and luxury vehicle workshop that has kept pace with the ever-changing motor industry. 

With almost 40 years’ experience in the motor industry, and membership of the Institute of the Motor industry for many years Des himself is still very much at the forefront of the business and has trained extensively in Germany, UK and USA through the 1990’s, 2000’s, and 2010’s. It is with huge pride that the business has progressed through the years and it has now progressed to the 2nd generation in Des’ Son James, himself a highly specialised motor engineer and EV master technician and a master in all thing’s high performance.

Owner

Des Started his career in the motor industry at the age of 16, serving his time originally as a Diesel tech. Progressing quickly through his training, He set himself on the path of becoming a highly qualified and specialised motor technician, attending numerous training courses in the UK, Germany and USA.

Des fulfilled his dream of having his own business, Opening Des Golden Services in March 2000 and has worked tirelessly to cement his stellar reputation in the motor industry, While never straying from his mantra of “setting and maintaining standards others seek to achieve”.

JAMES GOLDEN

Foreman/ Senior Technician/ Tuning & high-performance vehicle specialist / Hybrid & EV specialist.

James began his career in the motor industry at an earlier age than most, beginning his journey before he even started school. Finishing school in 2013 he immediately formally joined his dad in the business and progressed quickly through the apprentice stages and continued to follow in Des’s footsteps by attending advanced training courses. In 2018 James achieved his level 4 qualifications in EV/hybrid vehicles and currently is one of the only Independent EV master technicians in Ireland 

James brings to the business a wealth of knowledge in all things High-performance, tuning and hybrid & EV

SEAN MULLIGAN.

Technician

Sean joined our team straight from school a month shy of his 18th birthday.

He is currently going through the apprentice process but has far exceeded the standard of normal apprenticeships and is a highly valued member of our team.  We have no doubt that Sean will soon be entering the world of master techs and we look forward to helping him progress and reach his goals.

Joanna Golden

Service Manager & Customer Care Manager

Joanna joined us in the later half of 2021 as our service manager and is also our front of house person who insures that all our customers receive the best experience possible. A graduate of UCC since 2019 Joanna has a psychology and sociology background but has also grown up within the motor industry. The eldest daughter of Des and sister to James, she knows the business well and brings to the team an excellent understand of customer care and customer satisfaction. Joanna also holds certificates in first aid and is our in house first aid responder and health & safety.

NOELLE REA COUGHLAN. CPA.

Financial controller.

Noelle joined our team in 2007 having just qualified as a certified public accountant. She brings to our business an invaluable wealth of knowledge on all things financial and has played a huge roll in keeping the business on track and grounded. Noelle is our behind-the-scenes lady and has earned her title of Financial controller by supporting and advising us on every decision and venture we aim for. She is a highly valued and respected member of our team and we are lucky to have her with us.
